Alivia's eye surgery

Alivia had eye surgery on Monday, the 20th, to correct her left eye that veered out. She was such a trooper and we (Kim) tried hard over the weekend to prepare her for exactly what to expect. Right before we walked out the door, she asked if she could say goodbye and Steve said "Go give everyone a goodbye kiss and hug!" Alivia started crying as soon as the hugs started with Katelynn. It was sad to watch. We could see that she knew what was coming and that she was just a little bit scared. Well we left and went to the hospital, and she was in good spirits, as these pictures show:

Then they gave her the anesthesia, and she became very curious about her foot, which had the monitor attached to the big toe, and very goofy as these pictures show:

These next 2 pictures are taken soon after the surgery when she was still asleep from the drugs. Notice the blood on the corner of her eye.

These next pictures were taken yesterday and today, to show what her eyes are looking like now. Her left eye was brought inside, so she looks cross-eyed. She was seeing double for the first day and a half and the doctor said she will still see double occasionally for the next few days. On the way home from the doctors office yesterday, she said "Look Daddy, I can see 2 yellow towers, ones right there and the other is right there!" She was seeing 2 of the Meridian water tower. The doctor said that by the next appointment in about 2 weeks, the redness will be gone from the corners of her eyes and she will no longer be cross-eyed.
